Hello world ! This is my first blog. I'm Rémi Bourgeois, PhD. I am a researcher/engineer working at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). I work on the TRUST platform, a HPC (multi-GPU) CFD code that serves as a basis for many research/industrial applications.

I like to write about what I do as it forces me to formalize my idea, and because I think it might help others. Citing Lorenzo Miaggi "Blogging is one of the most effective ways I learn. If I don’t write, I don’t really understand."

My interests include:

  • GPU portable porting with Kokkos,
  • GPU kernel profiling (nsight/rocprof compute) & optimization
  • Low level GPU hardware / software interactions, figuring out vendor-specific hardware differences
  • Application-level profiling (nsight/rocprof systems) & optimization
  • Reaching out and mentoring
